Volunteer Opportunities at The Children’s Foundation
Volunteer opportunities are provided to youth and adults who are interested in gaining experience working with or helping children and families. Alderwood Family Development Centre, located in Vancouver, provides volunteers with meaningful volunteer opportunities, a safe and supportive environment, and clear guidelines for what is expected of volunteers.

Peer Mentors or Summer Camp Leaders should:
• Be at least 15 years of age
• Be interested in and enjoy interacting with children aged 6 to 12 years old
• Have good communication and leadership skills
• Remain flexible and take initiative

Volunteer Mentors should:
• Be at least 19 years of age
• Be energetic and enjoy being with children
• Have good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be available a minimum of two hours per week

Volunteer Mentor Moms should:
• Be willing to share parenting experiences
• Be good at building relationships
• Be available Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
