The Child Assessment Team is a group of skilled and caring psychologists, developmental pediatricians and other professionals who have knowledge and expertise in supporting children’s needs. We provide assessments and follow-up services in a safe, non-judgemental atmosphere. We approach our work from an attachment-informed, relationship-centered and culturally-sensitive perspective. We work collaboratively with families, school and community agencies to enhance positive outcomes for children.

Our goal is to help children thrive at home, school and in their community. We believe that by creating a comprehensive understanding of your child’s health, learning, social and emotional strengths and needs, you can more effectively support your child to reach their growth and potential. We offer child developmental assessments, parent consultation and education and follow-up support. Heartwood House’s support to children and families is:

We serve children and youth, birth to 19. Referrals are accepted from families, physicians, agencies and other professionals. Many extended health plans cover some of the costs of assessments, but may require a medical referral for coverage. Since many of our services are covered in full or part by extended health plans, you may want to contact your extended health provider prior to contacting us.
